ENGLISH: GUIDEDE TOUR OF THE ORDRUPGAARD MANOR HOUSE

19. april kl. 13:00 - 13:30

free with a ticket to the museum

To celebrate International House Museum Days, Ordrupgaard offers a special guided tour of the former home of museum founders Wilhelm and Henny Hansen.

Ordrupgaard was designed by the architect Gotfred Tvede in 1916, combining his own penchant for classicism with inspiration from late 19th-century English villas characterized by the Arts and Crafts movement.

The manor house is unique in its preservation, as it was donated to the Danish state after Henny Hansen’s death. Leaving everything from the monogrammed tableware to the Georgian furniture as a time capsule and a treasured part of the museum. The house contains a large collection of paintings by Danish artists such as Viggo Johansen, C. W. Eckersberg, and J. Th. Lundbye, as well as a remarkable collection of Bindesbøll furniture.
