WELCOMING ORDRUPGAARD’S NEW DIRECTOR
Gertrud Oelsner has just taken up her position as new director of Ordrupgaard. For the past seven years, Gertrud successfully headed the Hirschsprung Collection with well-attended exhibitions and new educational initiatives.
Gertrud says, ’I look forward to working here at Ordrupgaard, whose unique collections, building complex, and gardens constitute a gem in the Danish museum world. We have a fascinating exhibition programme ahead of us this coming year, spanning French impressionism and international contemporary art. In the future, together with the museum staff, I look forward to organising interesting and relevant exhibitions and museum experiences for the many visitors who come to Ordrupgaard every year.’
With her long and impressive exhibition activities, Gertrud has proven museum experience. Moreover, she has published several books and exhibition catalogues on notably Danish art, including the extensive monograph Vilhelm Hammershøi – på sporet af det åbne billede (Vilhelm Hammershøi – Exploring the Open Picture).
Gertrud Oelsner takes over from Anne-Birgitte Fonsmark, who has been director of Ordrupgaard since 1995.
