A richly illustrated catalogue published in conjunction with the exhibition: Gustave Caillebotte. The exhibition was organized in a collaboration between Ordrupgaard and Kunsthalle Bremen and was held at Ordrupgaard from October 17, 2008 – February 22, 2009.
The catalogue is about the French artist Gustave Caillebotte (1848-1894) and reflects the exhibition’s ambition to present this lesser known Impressionist. Besides highlighting Caillebotte’s importance to the Impressionist group and to Impressionism in general, the catalogue also touches upon his life long fascination with water, as reflected in many of his paintings.
