From 14 May to October 2002, Ordrupgaard chose to bring focus to the place and the collector of Ordrupgaard. The exhibition Volapük and Visions told both the personal story of the collector Wilhelm Hansen and his family and the making of Ordrupgaard. The exhibition was centred on the Danish collection of paintings, Danish handicraft by Thorvald Bindesbøll and Danish and French sculpture. Finally, a number of older photographs showed a little about the life of the Hansen family, about where and how they lived through the years up until the building of Ordrupgaard. The original look of the buildings and the park was also examined – also through photographs and other material from the archives.
